Pastor Darryl L. Winston is a native of Atlanta, GA. He matriculated at Bishop College in Dallas Texas and received a Bachelors in Social Welfare from the GSU. He served for six years in the military as a Chaplain Assistant and later as a Chaplain in the Reserve. He was ordained in 1991 at Union Temple Baptist Church. Pastor Winston has studied at Columbia Theological currently working on a Master of Divinity through Jewish Theological Distant Education Program. Pastor Winston has distinguished himself as a deputy coroner, community activist Counselor for adjudicated youth, writer and a Youth Pastor for several years. With a diehard commitment to reaching the disinherited, and disposed, Pastor Winston has lead numerous soul winning crusades. In 1995, he organized Greater Works Ministries initially as an outreach effort to youth and families.  Since, he has parlayed it into a thriving innovative church in Southeast Atlanta.  Under his leadership Greater Works Ministries has experienced tremendous growth. A plethora of ministries have been birthed, including, but not limited to Kiamsha Community Development Corporation, Seeds of Greatness Child Development Center, The Harambee Project, H.O.P.S. Music Group International, Bag Your Blessing LLC, Mercy Seat Assembly and OPERATION R.E.S.T.O.R.E, a program for ex-offenders. He is the founder of Greater Atlanta Ministerial Alliance, an organization of clergy and community leaders.

In 2000, Pastor Winston led a congregation of faith walkers to one of the poorest sections of Atlanta to acquire a multi-million dollar edifice to be used for the revitalization of the neighborhood and World Wide Ministry. The church hosts several conferences and summits annually. Pastor Winston has been featured on several national and local television, and radio programs for several community empowerment projects. He has also written for various local and national publications.   Pastor Winston was recently honored as one of Atlanta’s most influential pastors. Pastor Darryl is the husband of Minister Juakena Winston and has four children.

Elder Juakena Winston is truly a woman called by God for the work of the kingdom. She is an anointed preacher and teacher that God has used to birth youth and women into their destinies. Elder Winston currently serves as Director of Christian Education, Coordinator of the Fine Arts Ministry, Youth Minister and Coordinator of Women’s Ministry of Church of Greater Works, Intl. She also assists other ministries within the church and is an active member of the singing aggregation, Joyful Noyze.

Because of her down to earth personality and caring heart many young people have been led to Christ and joined the ministry along with their parents. She serves as a mentor to many and has established a mentoring program to help teens transition into young adulthood. Elder Winston is a multi-talented vessel of honor. Her gifting as a skit and play writer has been showcased by the youth in several dramatic, theatric, dance and voice performances. She does not limit her work to the local church assembly. Elder Winston has served as a volunteer at the local Special Olympics, Hands on Atlanta, HIV/AIDS programs and many more.

Elder Winston is a native of Washington, D.C. Before accepting her call into ministry, Elder Winston acquired a Bachelor of Science Degree in Broadcast Technology from the University of Maryland, Bowie Campus. She later relocated to the Atlanta area to pursue a Master’s Degree of which she completed at Clark Atlanta University in the area of Special Education. Her deep love for children propelled her career as an educator. Elder Winston taught for six years in the Atlanta Public School System in the special education department. She has worked diligently in the development and opening of Seeds of Greatness Christian Academy, where she currently serves as School Administrator.

In just one brief encounter, it is evident that Elder Winston is on a mission for God. She exhibits great faith in her diligence and tenacity in doing the work of the Lord. She has been called for such a time as this to leave an imprint in this new church era.
